Do You Have a Psychic Child?How do you tell if you have a psychic child? To a large extent all children are born psychic, and this is their natural state of mind until they reach puberty. But here we're talking more about whether your child displays high levels of psychic ability and how you can recognise the signs. While it is quite common for many children to speak about their 'imaginary friends', it is important to realise that there is much more to this type of child's play than may at first appear. Imaginary friends are likely more often that not to be Spirit people who can be seen by your child. Someone who has passed on from the Earthly plane to the Spirit world still looks much the same as they did in life here, and although they now live on the Other Side, they can still be clearly perceived by gifted mediums and children who are open to detecting Spirit presences. The Alpha State Before puberty kicks in, children spend the majority of their waking hours drifting in and out of the alpha state of brainwave activity. In the alpha state, the right-brain is much more active than the left-brain, which is why children are naturally much more imaginative and creative than adults. Right-brain activity is associated with creativity, day-dreaming, healing ability and a general feeling of well-being and calm, although this last characteristic is not always present in the majority of kids! Upon puberty, the left-brain becomes much more dominant and this leads to greater logic and reasoning ability, but this enhanced intelligence also comes at a cost of the higher stress levels found in adults. As the left-brain further develops, the ability to easily day-dream and be open to new ideas correspondingly diminishes, and as a result our early close connections with the Spirit world begin to weaken. Children are Natural Mediums A psychic child is constantly in the alpha-state of mental awareness (like having one foot still in the dreaming state while they're awake) and they can quite effortlessly perceive spiritual presences in both human and animal forms on the Other Side. To them this is as simple as looking across the street, and they may become frustrated when any surrounding adults cannot see what they see. Unprovoked, a child may occasionally blurt out something about an older person or animal being present in the room, or state with an unusual authority that so-and-so (who has passed into Spirit) is with us now. In these instances the psychic child is perceiving something that the surrounding adults do not, and it is important to validate the child's experience. Ask them what the lady looks like, or whether the man in the room that they see is saying anything to them. Gently interact with your child when they have a spontaneous psychic experience like this. At these times you may be lucky enough to receive a brief message from a loved one in the Spirit world, or gain the wonderful reassurance that a relative or friend made it to the Other Side. All young children are natural mediums and possess the ability to effortlessly communicate with those in Spirit. They have much to teach us about the simplicity of psychic intuition and its development, and no-one had to teach them how to tune into the Spirit world! Psychic children, more recently also known as indigo children and crystal children are completely normal and their spontaneous displays of psychic insight and mediumship are to be encouraged whenever they appear in daily life. If you notice that these occasional displays become more frequent, you are lucky to be in the presence of a very psychic child. Embrace their insights and allow them to enjoy their childhood without being bothered by family members trying to find out next week's lotto numbers! Be aware that psychic ability is completely natural to children, and sporadic displays of clairvoyance and Spirit contact will most likely disappear as quickly as they appeared. Children often pass on psychic insights with no more care than asking you what's for dinner. All children are born psychic. It is our job to encourage their insights whenever they are demonstrated and to accept them as another way of loving the many gifts our children possess.
