Using a Chakra Chart to Expand your Psychic Powers

Using a chakra chart is a quick and easy way to understand the chakra system and tap into this reserve of psychic energy and use your psychic strengths.

The spinal column contains seven major chakras which are the gateways between our physical and spiritual bodies. If our chakras are blocked or dull in appearance (which is detectible when psychically tuning-in to our spiritual body or aura) we are much more likely to develop sickness in the physical body.

The good news is that with an understanding of the chakras you can learn to balance your life and eliminate sickness, whether it be the onset of a simple cold or conquering an ongoing battle with cancer. If our chakras are healthy, our body is healthy.

Pausing briefly throughout the day at each point on our chakra chart helps to send additional energy around our body to assist us with the demands of our day.

The sanskrit word chakra means 'spinning wheel of colour', and each of our seven chakras emit a different colour and particular energy which relates to different psychic intuitions.

Think of the chakras in the spine forming a ladder of spiritual development: at the bottom of the ladder are the lower levels of the human soul and the lower emotions (greed, lust, envy etc.), but as we climb up the ladder of our chakra chart we increasingly become more spiritual and therefore more psychic.

The seventh chakra at the top of our head represents our closest connection to the divine Spirit world which surrounds us all. At the top of our chakra chart we are at our least selfish and most-loving best.

Chakra Chart from the Top of our Head down to the Base of our Spine

The Crown Chakra is located just above our head and is the portal to the Divine and our most spiritual self. Spiritual bliss occurs at this point and our ego vanishes here to give way to spiritual matters outside of our self.

The crown chakra is also known as the seventh chakra and may be seen as a trap-door which opens up to the Spirit world. It is most commonly associated with the pure spirituality of white, and meditating on the colour of white at the top of our head encourages our crown chakra to expand.

The crown chakra has been depicted in iconography for centuries by the halo that surrounds the heads of the Saints; and Christ himself is often portrayed with his crown chakra visible in medieval art.

The Sixth Chakra is located just above our eyebrows and is known as the third eye.

When you open your third eye by meditating, you will develop clairvoyant powers and see beyond the range of ordinary eyesight. The sixth chakra is most commonly associated with the colour of violet, and balancing this chakra balances our pineal gland.

The Throat Chakra or fifth chakra is located in the throat and is associated with the colour of vivid blue. Interestingly, clairaudience - the ability to psychically perceive sound beyond the range of ordinary hearing - is controlled by the centre of the throat.

When this chakra is blocked or dulled we experience a sore throat, but meditating to expand this chakra will heal our throat and larynx quickly and give it a protective coating that lasts several days.

The Heart Chakra, or fourth chakra, is located in the centre of the chest and is the mid-point on our chakra chart. When our heart chakra is properly balanced, we feel great compassion towards others and wish to serve our friends, family and neighbours as much as possible.

Many modern and ancient Saints live with a permanently expanded heart chakra which is the source of their constant compassion, care and love for others.

When the fourth chakra is unbalanced, we become introverted and may also suffer serious heart problems, but regular meditation on our heart chakra will help us to feel balanced and healthy again. The heart chakra is associated with vibrant green, the colour of healing (and often the favourite colour of healers!).

Our Solar Plexus, or third chakra, is located behind our navel and is the seat of our gut instincts. When we don't feel resolved about an issue, we may experience a sinking feeling in the pit of our stomach and this is our gut instinct telling us that something is wrong.

Clairsentience (or clear feeling) is developed by meditating on this solar plexus chakra and allows us to get a better grip on our natural psychic instincts. Balancing our solar plexus chakra eases the tensions and frustrations held in our abdomen. This chakra is deep yellow or gold in appearance and is the centre of psychic feeling and intuition.

The Second Chakra, also known as the sacral chakra, is centred in the lower abdomen and genitals and is symbolised by the colour of orange. Fertility and an abundance of physical energy are contained in this chakra; and to open it more fully is to experience greater strength, fertility and vitality.

The Root Chakra, or base chakra, is located at the bottom of our spine, the foot of our chakra chart, and grounds us to the Earth. Our lowest and most ego-centric emotions (jealously, hatred, financial anxiety and so on) are centred here and the colour of red links our root chakra to the ground under our feet.

When we meditate on our root chakra we feel a deeper sense of our life purpose and a greater sense of stability on our unique personal journey.

Chakra Chart Meditation

After withdrawing to a quiet area, close your eyes and relax as you focus on your breath, slowly preparing yourself to experience more energy from this meditation.

After a few minutes of breath-centred meditation you will be feeling lighter and more positive from the pranic energy freely flowing throughout your body.

Take your awareness now to the base of your spine. Starting with the root chakra, systematically move up your spine and as you do so, ask God and your Guide to expand all of your chakras one-by-one to release the unique healing and energising energy of each chakra into your body.

Visualise your attention slowly moving up your spine and pause at each chakra point to meditate on that colour and see its magnificent brightness spreading to every cell in your body.

When you reach the summit at your crown chakra, visualise the top of your head opening and a wonderful cascading shower of white light washing over you and down through your entire body, right down through your chakra chart and continuing through the soles of your feet and into the earth.

Relax for a minute and enjoy the cascading shower of white light to complete this simple, energising chakra meditation.

This visualisation will cleanse and refresh you, helping to raise the psychic energy in your body at the same time.

As you learn to relax more, you receive the wonderful benefit of becoming more psychic. Why do the best psychics look relaxed and natural when they work on stage? Because they are relaxed! In their earlier meditation, they brought their mental awareness to a calm place in order to perform brilliantly and make strong psychic connections, and you can develop this ability too.

Remember: greater relaxation = greater psychic ability

Meditating up the chakra chart will help you to open up much more and perceive a greater range of psychic vibrations around you, so begin to practise this meditation and you will enjoy even greater insights over the following weeks.
